The Architecture Style Of Your Home
I used to wonder why many people spend so much time and money in building houses, when they could simply buy them already built for a lesser price. But I soon found out that they prioritize the individual style of the house. Hence special attention is paid to its architecture style.
If you want your house to be the product of your own imagination and reflect your unique style and interests, but are not sure how, you may find this post rather useful. It’s meant to help you end up with your desired home. Of course, the sketching, building and designing processes are done by architects, constructors, and designers, but you’re the one whose opinion they prioritize.
For me the most important things to consider for your house are a combination of, as ancient Roman architect Vitruvius mentioned, three principles: firmitatis, utilitatis and venustatis–that is durability, utility and beauty. By durability we mean the soundness of the construction. Utility refers to the usefulness for the inhabitants, and beauty is everything that inspires you and makes you feel relaxed. Hence, these criteria make the architecture style of houses different as they’re perceived differently by different personalities.
As there’s a large variety of architecture styles like neoclassical, Victorian, shingle, contemporary, and so on, you have as many options. When considering the climate, geographical location, the house size and other factors in deciding on a specific style, note that you’re free to improvise by combining and/or mixing the classical styles and make the final result meet your expectations.
Architects often say that if you are looking for perfect architecture then your unlikely to have perfect design, but designers think that while perfecting the design there are shortcomings in the construction. The ideal goal is to have the best of both worlds by which you’ll have a perfect house.
So, consider this post as a guide for prioritizing your individual approach and helping you find the architecture style of your house.
