Choosing An Auctioneer
Any time you need to immediately sell your house, you are never able to find a potential buyer. And in such a situation the best way is to sell your home at an real estate auction.
An auction creates competition between buyers so those who’re really interested would give more for your house. But that is not enough. To manage a realty sale at a maximum price at auction you need to choose an auctioneer who is worth dealing with.
Therefore look for an auctioneer who is right for you. But how? Look in the Yellow Pages, on the Internet or in newspaper ads. Finding one is easy but hiring someone worthy of the task takes more time and effort.
When choosing an auctioneer consider the following tips:
1. Professionalism. The auctioneer should be qualified and specialized in this field. The top three things that are obligatory for real estate auctioneers are:
- Knowledge of how to estimate the value of the property
- knowledge of how to attract potential buyers
- Awareness of the market
Also make sure your auctioneer is a member of the State Auctioneers Association and National Auctioneers Association, which will ensure a high degree of professionalism.
2. Experience. No matter how enthusiastic he is about doing the job you need to make sure that he is experienced and skillful enough. So ask him to tell more about his previous jobs–collect detailed information.
3. Referrals. Yet asking only him is not enough as he’s likely to present himself in a convincing way. Collect feedback from his previous clients.
4. License. Although not every state requires professional licensing, some of them do and it’s recommended for an auctioneer to have a license.
Don’t hurry in making your final decision. With the help of an experienced auctioneer you’ll get a maximum price for your house. Just make sure the one you choose is the right match to your expectations.
