With the help of an estate agent you save your time, money and efforts.
Anyway, using the services of an estate agent does not necessarily mean that you will make the most of your sale. Sometimes you may be dissatisfied with his work and think that you pay much money for the work he basically doesn’t do. In such situations you can find another agent (a more responsible one) or you can organize your realty sale yourself.
If you are going to sell your house on your own, then consider the following benefits:
- You control the sale price and you negotiate about it with potential buyers
- When you sell the house, you get the total amount (you don’t have to give a part of it to your agent)
- You will do your best to sell your house at a higher price
But since you don’t have an agent to promote your house, you will have to take care of newspaper listings and advertising on the Internet yourself. And you’ll have to spend some extra money on advertisement.
Presenting your house at a realty auction is not a bad idea, but still it is not a very good one either. The realty auction does not guarantee to make the most of your sale: moreover, sometimes auction sales go below market prices.
But auction will be useful for you if you need to sell your house fast but can’t find a potential buyer. And if your house is very old and needs a lot of renovation, an auction is worth a try.
